Corporate volunteering:

Supporting your local youth charity can help your business meet its Corporate Social Responsibility targets, improve your image, and boost your local reputation. It can also provide your employees with a highly rewarding experience and an insight into the local community.

We offer businesses a wide range of opportunities to become involved in supporting our charitable work with young people. Whether it be one-off volunteering, in kind donations, or sponsorship, every contribution we receive is valued.

  • Work experience and mentoring:Provide a work experience and mentoring placement for a young person and give them much-needed insight into the world of work.
  • In kind support and employee volunteering: Support our projects through employee volunteering or providing goods or services on a pro bono basis. Become a volunteer football coach, bring your video editing skills to our media project, or lend a hand at one of our community events.
  • Fundraising:: Get involved in our fundraising or start a fundraising event of your own! We are always looking for a helping hand with our fundraising and we would love to hear your fundraising ideas.
  • Sponsorship:Sponsoring specific aspects of our work, such as our community events or employability project, is a great way to enhance your business’s local reputation. Sponsors can display their logo on publicity materials and banners, take part in photo opportunities, and present certificates and prizes to our young volunteers.

Youth Volunteering

If you are a local resident you can take part in any of our exciting community projects. We are always looking for volunteers to help deliver our programmes. If you have a passion for sport, teaching, IT or aspire to be a football coach and want hands-on experience, or if you just have a desire to help, please email us.

Why volunteer?

Through volunteering with Sport-ED, you’ll gain confidence, new skills, and experiences that can help you progress to employment, training, or higher education. We can also provide you with work experience opportunities and help with CV writing, applications, and interviews. Over the last 2 years we have trained nearly 15 volunteers.

Getting involved in one of our projects is also a great way to have fun and make new friends.

Professional volunteering

We have a wide range of opportunities for skilled professionals to volunteer their time.

Become a mentor: Support a young person in developing their employability skills whilst boosting their confidence and helping them fulfill their potential.

Help us Fundraise: We’re looking for experienced fundraisers to help us secure funding so we can continue to support local disadvantaged young people.

Become a football coach: We’re looking for volunteers to coach football sessions in the evenings and weekends. Volunteers will receive training to become a qualified coach.

Back office support: Join our small admin team and provide much-needed administrative support.

Make media: We’re looking for people with media know-how to help young people tell their stories. We need support in: filmmaking, photography, graphic design, and web design.

Help out with events: Join us at one of our many community events as a planner, first-aider, or steward.
